Island games opening Ceremony, Arts Parade and events

WOW! What a spectacular event the Isle of Wight has just held with the Island Games. The opening ceremony was just spectacular with 1500 children and helpers in the Ryde Arts parade accompanied by 4000 athletes.I was lucky enough to get a ring side seat as the children, adults and athletes proudly paraded through the streets of Ryde.
This inspired me to go and watch as many of the events as I could and by the end of the week I had seen, a variety of athletic events, volleyball, basketball, swimming, tennis, cycling and squash - and boy oh boy did the athletes make each Island proud!
