Clary and James - wedding
30th October 2011
30th October 2011
The beautiful Catholic Church in Newport was the location for Clary and James' wedding. A full Catholic Mass ceremony was then followed by a reception at Shanklin's beautiful Landguard Manor, via a quick stop for photos' on Shanklin seafront. Clary wore an ivory dress detailed with a diamonte cross which was a present from the brides mother. Clary and James drove away from the church in a classic Ford Capri in orange with tin cans attached to the bumpy in a fab 1970's stylee! With a fancy dress box and sparklers to entertain the guests, the bride and groom made this a very memorable occasion. Emma Watts Photography would like to wish clary and James all the very best and looks forward to seeing them again soon when they visit the IOW in the future.

Carly and Brad - wedding

23rd October 2011
I found myself in Bristol for the wedding of Carly and Brad. A perfect day with the most glorious sunshine. Carly got ready at The Bristol Hotel which was located right on the riverbank and a stunning hotel and I was fortunate to stay at the same hotel too which made my job much easier. Carly then met up with Brad at Bath registry office for a very personal wedding service with close family and friends followed by a relaxed evening with hog roast and celebrations. Carly looked stunning in a lace gown with hand made bouquets and was attended by her sister and gorgeous son Nate. Emma Watts Photography would like to wish carly and Brad an amazing future together.

03rd October 2011
Well who'd have thought that a shoot on the 2nd October would have seen temps in the late 20's!??? Well that's what happened last week at Colemans Farm - Porchfield. I met four lovely families early on sunday morning to trot around after four fun 2 year olds - sounds easy you say!!!!!!!!! Well we played on the tractors, hunted for eggs in the barn, zipped on wires, hid in tyres, slid down slides and cuddle "Alan" the Guinea Pig!!!!!!! What a fun shoot and hopefully all four sets of parents are pleased with their pictures. Lexi, Maddie, Ruby and Freddie - thank you so much for smiling on queue and having lots of fun for the camera!!!

28th September 2011
This was the pre wedding shoot for Maria and Mark. I met the couple at Firestone Copse for a walk around and to have some fun with the camera ahead of their big day on New Years Eve!!! The plans that they have for the day sound very exciting and I''m really looking forward to a Christmas Time wedding!!! The couple were both very nervous about doing a pre wedding shoot but within ten minutes they had totally relaxed and were enjoying the moment and now feel completely relaxed about me snapping away on the day!! That for me is the main reason I do a pre-wedding shoot! Check back in the early part of Jan to get a sneak peek of the day xxx

Jen and Rick - wedding
26th September 2011
26th September 2011
This was a "first" for me in photographing a Sunday wedding!!!!! Jen and Rick wanted a late september wedding and the only available weekend days were Sundays!!!! The whole day had a lovely relaxed feeling and having the ceremony and reception all at The Lakeside Hotel meant that Jen could prepare for her day in complete leisure!!! Lots of unique features with this couples day from the "Father of the Groom" escorting the bride down the aisle to the beautiful wedding bands the couple exchanged that were made from Jen's late parents own rings, meaning everything had lots of emotion, sentiment and thought put into the day. The rain stayed away too which meant that the couple could wed outside in the presence of their very special friends and family. The couple choose "MoonRiver" for their first dance and that had sentimental feelings too and they asked the grooms parents to join them on the dance floor for the first dance. This was a special wedding for me too as I went to school with Jen and have known her for the past 30 years - oh heck!!!! Many congratulations to Jen and Rick, I hope you enjoy every minute of your married life together xxxx

This was the second of the two weddings that I had been asked to cover by Martin at Wightphotography.com and at this occasion I had the pleasure of spending the day with Imogen and Jonny. A beautiful church service was followed by a fun photoshoot down on Cowes Parade then onto The New Holmwood Hotel for their reception. Imogen looked stunning in a two piece gown that had detailing from her Grandmother's dress delicately stitched onto hers and was attended by five bridesmaids in stunning purple full lengh gowns. Again this was a pleasure to be helping out Martin at Wightphotography and I would like to say what a lovely time I had with the couple xxx

Lisa and Martin - wedding
18th September 2011
18th September 2011
St Blasias Church in Shanklin was the setting for Lisa and Martin's big day. Lisa had gone to town on her wedding planning and totally excited me with all her accessories. Her something blue were a pair of stunning crystal slippers accompanied by a gold gown handmade by Lisa's very clever Auntie. Five bridesmaids and a pageboy were all on hand to help Lisa prepare for her day and the bridesmaids too wore handmade complimenting gowns again designed and produced by Auntie!!! Infact the bridesmaids also made their own head dresses too from dried flowers on alice bands. The reception was held at Rookley Country Park and again Lisa had prepared a very elegant dining room with beautiful gold feathers and decorations. It was a pleasure to spend the day with Lisa and Martin and I wish them all the very best for their future happiness together xxx

Martin at Wightphotography.com asked me to cover a couple of weddings for him over September and the first beautiful wedding saw me with Abi and Phil at the most stunning location of the Priory Bay Hotel in Seaview. Abi was attended by six bridesmaids all dressed in a beautiful coral and the bride carried a bouquet of cream and peach roses to compliment her colour scheme. After the ceremony we wondered down to the ruins within the grounds for the photographs then onto the Wishing Well Pub for the reception. It was a pleasure to help Martin and I would like to take this opportunity to wish the happy couple all the very best xxx

Emma and John - wedding
04th September 2011
04th September 2011
The beginning of September saw me at Emma and John's beautiful wedding held at Ryde's Methodist Church. The day started with the hustle and bustle of bridal prep at home where Emma was assisted by her able team of six bridesmaids dress in gorgeous shade of lilac. Emma wore a strapless white gown with pearl and sequin detailing and a lace up back with beautiful accessories to match. The bride was driven to church in a convertable powder blue Audi and escorted down the aisle by her brother Leon. The service was exceptionally upbeat and conducted by "WackyRev" Marie (her polo shirt said "Wacky Rev"!) and with out doubt Marie made this service one to remember!!!! A guard of honor (of pool cues) awaited Emma and John and Rev Marie stood proud with her pool cue too - very funny!!! The fun then continued over at Albert Cottage - East Cowes, where we had lots of crazy ideas for the photographs and lots of laughs too!!!!!!!!! Emma Watts Photography wishes Emma and John all the very best for their married life and I thank you for letting me have so much fun with you two and it was an honour to take your wedding photographs xxxx

Lauren and Leo 20th August 2011

21st August 2011
Lauren and Leo treated me to an outdoors wedding ceremony at the beautiful Landguard Manor in Shanklin. Lauren had part designed her wedding gown with an elegant semi backless style with crystal detailing and carried a posy of baby pink roses. Leo was in full formal Royal Marines uniform along with his Best Man. The guests dined on a Hog Roast feast and sampled the delights of a chocolate fountain. A band played the afternoon away whilst the children jumped on a bouncy castle and the adults sipped Pimms. The weather was so kind that infact the couple performed their first dance outside to an audiance of family and friends. Emma Watts Photography wishes Lauren and Leo a long happy life together.

Emma and Matt - 13th August 2011
14th August 2011
14th August 2011
I look forward to every wedding equally, but the wedding of Emma and Matt was made just that little bit more special as Emma is a friend of mine as well as a teacher at my son's school!!! Emma organised this wedding with such attention to detail and originality and it was a complete pleasure to have been part of their special day. To relieve the nerves and pressures on their day the couple had decided to be a little different and have their special wedding shots done before they said "I DO!" So we all went over to Rhylstone Gardens in Shanklin to have some fun!!! On return to the wedding venue the guests had been seated and all nerves had turned to excitement for the couple. Emma walked up the ailse on her father's arm accompanied by the couples two beautiful daughters as bridesmaids, bridegroom's nephew as page boy and Emma's best friend as Maid of Honor. Emma wore a stunning white gown embroidered with pink sequins, with the girls in baby pink dresses and all groomsmen in suits with light pink waistcoats. Emma carried a beautiful bouquet with summer gerbras. The couples originality went into the service and as well as the couple exchanging wedding bands their daughters also receive a ring for the eldest and a bracelet for the youngest with some very emotional words said - and yes I too began to well up!!!!! This day was full of extra special moments including an ice cream van, Mr Randini to entertain the children (and adults!!) personalised sticks of rock, popcorn and candyfloss machines and sweeties galore!!! And finally not only did Emma and Matt share their first dance together, but then Emma took her GrandFathers hand and waltzed around the room with such elegance. Emma Watts Photography would like to wish Emma, Matt and the girls a magical future and the line "the day we met Daddy on the hovercraft" will stay with me forever!!!!!

Francesca and Chris
04th August 2011
04th August 2011
Emma Watts Photography was asked by Martin Wilkins at Wightphotography to assist him with the wedding of Cesca and Chris at Landguard Manor. The day started off with very heavy rain and we had fears of staying indoors for the whole day, but as soon as the couple said "I DO" the sun appeared and stayed for the entire day - pheww!!! Francesca woo'ed the congregation when she arrived for her groom on the arms of her "2" dads in a stunning strapless, layed white gown and accompanied by two bridesmaid in the most beautiful bright pink, full lengh dresses. The Groomsmen, to my delight, wore Top Hats with their tail coats and looked very handsome. The guests were entertained by a magnificent flying display of "birds of prey" and were also able to handle the birds too. Not only did I take the photographs for the wedding but also had to assist the bride and groom in re-creating the movie scene from the Epic film, "Gone with the Wind" where Scarlet O'Hara was rescued from the burning Tara mansion by the dashing Rhett Butler. Chris lifted his bride at the top of the stairs but needed help so I took the brides legs and assisted with the lift whilst hiding under the dress layers - a cracking shot was achieved by Martin and a lot of laughs too!!! Emma Watts Photography would like to wish Chess and Chris all the best for a wonderful life together xxx

Sharon and Matt - 30 July 2011

30th July 2011
It was with great pleasure that Emma Watts Photography was asked to cover this wedding for Martin Wilkins at Wightphotography. The day was funfilled from start to finish giving me so much material to use that would have filled two wedding albums!!!!!! This wedding had a wonderful 1950's style to it with the bride in a stunning 3/4 lengh full circular gown with lace bolero accompanied by three adult bridesmaids in individual gowns in a gorgeous sage green. The day started with getting ready shots at the bride's parent's house followed by the bridal party walking to the church in Sandown, being carnival day it seemed right to walk the party down the middle of the road!!! The Methodist service was so up beat that it made me want to clap along instead of taking the pictures!!!! The reception was held at the beautiful Landguard Manor in Shanklin where The Plaza in Cowes ice-cream van supplied yummy Ice-Creams as served by the Bride. Football, croquet and hoopla were played in the grounds by all as the guests enjoyed a lovely summers day on the Isle of Wight. Emma Watts Photography would like to thank Wightphotography for offering me this wonderful wedding to shoot and would like to send huge congratultions to Sharon and Matt and wish them a long, happy life together - enjoy your honeymoon guys xxxxx

Such a little cutie pie and at 8 weeks old still only weighing in at 4lb 10oz she is going from strength to strength and now strong enough to be allowed home to all her brother, sisters and cousins to play with!!! It was a wonderful experience for me to photograph someone so tiny and she was a wonderful model as she slept through it all from the heat of my house whilst mum and I melted!!! Emma Watts photography wishes dear little Sophie all the very best and looks forward to seeing her again soon xxx

Island games opening Ceremony, Arts Parade and events
06th July 2011
06th July 2011
WOW! What a spectacular event the Isle of Wight has just held with the Island Games. The opening ceremony was just spectacular with 1500 children and helpers in the Ryde Arts parade accompanied by 4000 athletes.I was lucky enough to get a ring side seat as the children, adults and athletes proudly paraded through the streets of Ryde.
This inspired me to go and watch as many of the events as I could and by the end of the week I had seen, a variety of athletic events, volleyball, basketball, swimming, tennis, cycling and squash - and boy oh boy did the athletes make each Island proud! To see a selection of the parade and events please visit my "client galleries" page and click on the Arts and Island games parade album and see for yourself how amazing the costumes and games themselves were. Good Luck to Bermuda who are the next hosts for the games, I'm sure you'll put on an amazing show too xxx
